41 fatalities in agriculture, forestry and fishing in Great Britain, 2020-21

Out of 142 worker fatalities at work over the past 12 months, more than half have been in agriculture, forestry and fishing industries.

Workers aged 60 and older accounted for more than half of all fatal injuries (18 out of 34 worker deaths).

Only 16% of injuries incurred in agriculture are reported by law. HSE estimates that around 10,000 injuries are not reported each year. This can cost both the injured person and the business.
